Grey Matters Talk | wellbeing inspired by nature
We’ve kindly been invited to talk to community group ‘Grey Matters’, to explain a little more about the Human-Nature project and how it came about, and how we intend use nature and local landscapes to inspire wellbeing. We’ll be explaining the story behind our project and what activities and services might be on offer which may be of interest to the their group. We’ll also be showing a little of our artwork from thescapeartists and explain where we hope to take our project from here.
‘Grey Matters’ is itself a community outreach initiative linked with Keele, which is primarily aimed towards the 55+ age group and was launched a few years ago. The project provides a meeting facility and access to education programmes for the ‘older’ community, where they can engage in various educational activities and be more actively involved in the Keele Campus Community.
Hopefully we share some common interests with them, as they often receive talks, day trips and activities around garden, greenspace, sustainability and wellbeing themes – helping them to connect, keep learning and stay well and active in later life. Hopefully they share the same values and ethos as ourselves and we have some common interests to pursue. It will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about their project and their experiences too.
Who knows we may be able to get a few of them into Nordic walking, or throwing the odd pot or two!
